Grey's pension, I have the honour to inform you there is only one precedent in this Colony for giving a pension on mixed service, partly police and partly ordinary civil employment. The case referred to is that of Mr. John Cleaver, late Inspector of Nuisances, who joined the service as a Constable, and two years afterwards, was transferred to the Civil Establishment.
2. Mr. M. Grey as a Police Officer was assigned a pension of $460.00 Four hundred and sixty dollars per annum and Five hundred and sixty-two dollars and fifty cents as passage money. Had his pension been calculated on mixed service, it would have amounted to $509.13 Five hundred and nine dollars and thirteen cents per annum.
